Many people dream of meeting their idol, but only a few get to experience it. We often fantasize about meeting them behind the scenes and taking photos, but for one lucky girl, that dream just got even more special.
Sixth grade teacher Diana Fairbanks had the once-in-a-lifetime chance to virtually share the stage with the one and only Michael Bublé at a show at Oracle Arena in Oakland in 2019 . Can you imagine yourself in his shoes? Surrounded by a huge crowd, Mrs. Fairbanks fearlessly approached Bublé and made a bold request: a duet.
And to my surprise, he accepted. The audience went wild as the spectacular rendition of Disney’s “A Whole New World” began. It was truly a magical moment that touched everyone’s hearts. At first, Buble thought Fairbanks was just a fan trying to get his attention.
But when he saw his signature, he couldn’t believe his eyes. She was not just a fan, she wanted to sing with him on stage. This unexpected surprise made the performance even more special. Despite Bublé’s fame and talent, this amazing duo shows us that deep down he is just like us. He stumbled over his words, laughed, and made mistakes.
But none of that mattered because what really shined through was the real connection between the two of them. They supported each other, played the right notes together, and even looked into each other’s eyes while playing to calm each other down.
Michael Bublé is known around the world for his iconic voice and incredible talent. Not only does he have an impressive catalog of original songs, but he also has a talent for reviving forgotten classics. One example is her rendition of Nina Simone’s immortal hit “Feeling Good.” During his performance at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena, 15-year-old fan Sam Holliman had the incredible opportunity to share the stage with Bublé for a breathtaking rendition of the iconic song.
