Pat Sajak talks about his health issues. He thought the pain would kill him.

The “Wheel of Fortune” host, Pat Sajak, speaks candidly about needing emergency surgery a month ago for a blocked bowel.

In his first interview following the procedure, which he gave to “Good Morning America,” Sajak acknowledged that he had felt as though he would die just before the surgery”.

The game show host began to feel “excruciating” agony in November while taking his daughter for a morning stroll. He was on his back, writhing in agony, waiting to have surgery hours later.

I was on the bed, curled up like a fetal, he said. To try and control your pain, they employ a variety of drugs. And not a single thing—not one—of it—worked”.

Later, he claimed, he received a painkiller from his doctors.

“I was suddenly not thinking about the pain,” he said in further explanation”.

I recently acquired these amazing pastels with faces spilling out of them.”.

“I heard my wife and daughter talking to each other. Even though they were right next to me, they seemed far away from me, he said. They were exchanging words. Without being morbid, I seem to recall thinking that this must be death. This must be how death feels”.

He expressed concern and sadness that his wife and children would “have to deal with the fallout”.

Naturally, Sajak made it through the procedure alive, dispelling his fears that he would pass away.

It turns out I was just high, he said with a laugh.

According to “Good Morning America,” the procedure for Sajak was “totally successful. ”.

He asserted that doctors had not identified any underlying causes for the intestinal blockage. This means that he need not change his way of life.

I’ve been feeling really great for a few weeks, Sajak declared”.

“I’ve started doing studio performances again.

After the wheel was spun, nothing popped. I therefore believe that’s acceptable”.

Sajak’s experienced co-host Vanna White covered for him while he was recovering. During the conversation, Sajak made fun of his concern that she’ll replace him as the primary host.

I learned she enjoys hosting, and I’m a little nervous,” he admitted”.

Despite his jokes, Sajak comes off as comfortable in his role on “Wheel of Fortune”.

“I’m still on guard,” he declared”.
