Blake Shelton’s duties on The Voice have been terminated.
Blake Shelton’s time as a coach on the renowned NBC singing competition The Voice has come to an end after a remarkable 12-year run.
Shelton won nine times while he was a contestant on the show, making a strong impression. He made his decision to stop competing in The Voice after season 23 known in October 2022 by posting on Instagram.
I’ve been having trouble making this decision for a while, Shelton wrote. Shelton’s words were heartfelt and sincere. This program has made a significant impact on my life, and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for it”.
He concluded by saying, “These twelve years of chair turns have been an incredible ride, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone at The Voice, including NBC, the talented producers, writers, musicians, crew members, and even the catering staff. You are all without a doubt the best in the business”.
Shelton began his coaching career during the first season of the program, joining Adam Levine, CeeLo Green, and Christina Aguilera. He and Adam Levine formed a close bond as co-coaches over the course of several seasons.
Following the departure of Adam Levine in season 16, Shelton accepted new celebrity coaches like Nick Jonas, Shakira, and eventually his wife, Gwen Stefani, whom he met on the show.
Despite Kelly Clarkson’s return as a coach and the addition of Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan in the most recent season, viewers couldn’t help but wonder why Shelton was leaving The Voice.
To spend more time with his wife, Gwen Stefani, and their family, Shelton claimed that his decision was driven by this desire.
In a December 2022 cover story, Shelton said, “Gwen and I have spent the first half of our lives on the go”.
Now, I treasure the simple pleasures of putting on sweats at six o’clock. m. and watching old episodes of our favorite shows, like Ozark. We love living in this way right now. ”.
Shelton now values his family greatly, particularly his stepchildren. He would only regret missing the birth of our children, one of life’s most significant milestones, at this point. I’m no longer the focus of it, and I never will be. ”.
Shelton insisted that his family came first, but he also emphasized his commitment to his singing career. By taking a break from The Voice, he can think about his upcoming musical projects and produce an album that truly speaks to him.
It would be as if I were to lose a part of myself if I stopped playing music. I can’t live without it, Shelton said emphatically. He saw the enormous potential that was developing for the industry and the quick evolution of country music.
Shelton is looking forward to making these changes and occasionally releasing new music. He will have time to develop his skills and make a decision during his time away from The Voice.
Shelton has broadened his creative interests beyond music. One example is the game show called Barmageddon, which he co-created with Carson Daly, the host of The Voice. Shelton is being cautious when making new commitments, but he is open to any chances that might present themselves in the future.
He cracked a joke about how some individuals would remark, “You’re not quitting The Voice to sit around”.
