When I realize why my heart is warm, she plays Dead on the Road.

Amanda decided to act right away when she discovered that Bear was a lost and abandoned dog in the mountains close to Evan’s Creek. Together with her friend Dylan, they started searching for the lone dog. More than an hour was spent trying to appease Bear with food and treats, but Amanda and Dylan’s plan failed. The next day, when they returned, Bear was still there. They tried, again and again, to get him to come so they could help him, but to no avail. Then, the girls had a very original (to put it mildly) idea. They decided Amanda would “play dead,” asking for help as she lay down. The next day, Amanda sat down on the ground close to where she believed Bear was. Then, two hours later, something warmed the hearts of countless animal friends.

Driving past a dog at a campsite in Evans Creek, Washington State, is when everything with dogs began. The dog appeared frightened and undernourished. The dog became aggressive when the driver tried to approach it.

A girl named Amanda discovered the Bear, a wild dog, a few days later.

Despite their best efforts, the treats they offered the bear were not appealing. Still too wary to approach people, the dog was. In light of this, Amanda decided to adopt a slightly different tactic.

On Facebook/Lost and Found Pets Washington State, she assumed a dead position and curled up there. Bear, a symbol for the spirit of assistance, then made an appearance not long after.

He approached Amanda and sniffed her for twenty minutes, then grew bored and left.

Amanda was not, however, abandoning lostfoundpetswastate.com.

Following an hour, he came back.

This time, he didn’t do anything special; he simply sat next to Amanda. Within the next two hours, Amanda won Bear’s trust, allowing him to be confident that she wasn’t trying to hurt him.

Using the website lostfoundpetswastate.com, he accompanied her as she made her way to the car before they both drove to the veterinarian.

Because of these amazing animal companions who never gave up on Bear, assistance from Lost & Found Pets Wa State was finally given to him. Animal welfare group Lost & Found Pets in Washington has made numerous attempts to contact the dog’s owner without success. Thanks to a family who contacted us and expressed their desire to adopt Bear, he now has a warm home!
