At age 78, Bob Miller, better known to WWE fans as Bushwhacker Butch, passed away. His previous wrestling partner, Brian Wickens (a. k. a. Bushwhacker Luke) shared the information on his Instagram page.
“Our dear Bob passed away. Our loved ones never truly depart from us. In Luke’s place, Jackie, his daughter, wrote, “Somethings are beyond the reach of death.”. We will always love you, Uncle Bob Miller, until we cross paths again. Luke stated that Butch had arrived in Los Angeles for Wrestlemania over the weekend. He was soon nonetheless taken to the hospital for a “medication situation.”. “At the time of this reporting, the actual cause of death was unknown.
The New Zealander’s long wrestling career is being mourned by the wrestling community. Butch, who started his professional wrestling career in 1964, was unquestionably a formidable opponent. Before going to the United States, he and Luke formed a partnership in New Zealand, where they were unstoppable. The Bushwhackers have won numerous championships since joining the WWE in 1988, and they have since grown to be one of the best tag teams in wrestling history. In 2015, Butch and Luke were honored for their contributions to the sport by being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Despite his untimely passing, he will be fondly recalled by those in the wrestling community.
Since the year 2000, Bushwhacker Butch has retired. Bushwhacker Luke and Butch did, however, get together again in 2021 for meet-and-greets and other exclusive fan events. They continued to work together up until Butch’s passing. In a spooky Instagram post for Wrestle Con, Luke even reminded their fans that time was running out to get joint autographs from them. “Due to Butch’s residency in NEW ZEALAND and BOTH OUR AGES, this may be the only time getting DUEL AUTOGRAPHS and PHOTOS with Both of Us,” the post stated. Sadly, this would prove to be true.
Following Butch’s unexpected passing, wrestlers, fans, and industry members have started tweeting their condolences. The wrestler Frankie Kazarian tweeted, “RIP Bushwhacker Butch.”. Salutations, sir. Even our lone match together, I want to thank you for everything. It’s tragic, really. The Iron Sheik, a professional wrestler, wrote, “BUSHWHACKER BUTCH I LOVE YOU FOREVER.”. YOU’VE ALWAYS MADE ME SMILE, MY FRIEND. As for Bushwhacker Butch Miller, WWE representative Adam Pearce tweeted, “Godspeed. “Be careful, sir. ”.
