There was a noticeable sense of loss in the air when the cast of John Wick 4 appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Thursday, March 23.
However, Lance Reddick, who has a significant part in the film and appears in the television adaptation, passed away before the episode was even conceived.
In addition to a photo of the cast in the studio, the NBC show’s official social media accounts mourned the tragic loss of the movie.
Lance Reddick passed away after the recording of today’s show, and his memorial read, “We are all deeply saddened by his passing”.
In our prayers and thoughts are Lance and the family of @JohnWickMovie. He said, referring to his organization, MOMCares, “Please join us today as we celebrate and remember his legacy.”.
Viewers of the show sent their condolences to the cast members and Lance’s family by leaving comments like “Very sad, sorry for his off-screen as well as on-screen family and friends” and “His performance consistently pulled me to the character he played.”. There will be a void left by his absence.
Lance, who passed away on March 17, was holding press conferences for the John Wick sequel when he died.
His spokesperson at Portrait PR at the time confirmed the details, stating that he died at the age of 60 of natural causes.
Lance majored in drama at Yale in the early 1980s, but it wasn’t until the 2000s that he first rose to fame for his five-season role as Cedric Daniels in The Wire.
He has acted as Phillip Broyles and Chief Irvin Irving in TV shows like Bosch and Fringe, respectively. In the 2014 film Charon, starring Keanu Reeves and based on the life of a New York hotel concierge, he made his acting debut.
Each of the three sequels over the past nine years has featured Lance. On March 24, the fourth film will be released.
