Connie Francis, who recently turned 86, says she wants to be remembered “for the depths I have come”.

85-year-old Connie Francis, a former teen pop singer, wears a dejected expression. Her lush lips are just as stunning today as they were when she sang “Who’s Sorry Now?” in 1958.

Francis gained notoriety for consistently donning false eyelashes and stiletto heels. Francis, who stands 1 point 56 meters tall, was born in Newark, New Jersey.

Francis looked stunning as she celebrated her 85th birthday with “the largest gathering of lifetime friends and those closest to me.”. “.

After making a name for herself with the release of “Who’s Sorry Now,” Francis continued to gain popularity in the 1960s with the singles “Everybody’s Somebody’s Fool,” “Heartaches by the Number,” and “Lipstick on Your Collar.”.

Grief still afflicted her despite the advantages of fame.

Bobby Darin, the best-selling female singer of the era, fell in love with Bobby, the most well-known male performer of the 1960s. She became so devoted to him that she later declared, “Bobby was my first and last love. Many of the songs she sang were written by him“.

In an interview with FOX News, Francis discusses her long-standing relationship with Darin and how she instantly triggered his flight response.

She remembered that in 1956 Bobby had come to her office to play a song for her. Jingles for a New Jersey furniture store were what he was creating. I made a small change to the music he was playing me. Consider that he was not pleased.

He remarked, “This lady and I don’t dance to the same tune.”. I commanded, “Leave.”. He gambled and turned to leave, but he then reversed course and came back. However, the hatred quickly gave way to love.

But from the start, their romance was doomed.

Due to Francis’ demanding and irritable Italian father’s disapproval of the growing relationship, Darin eventually drifted away from Francis.

Francis remarked, “My dad hated him so much. ”. Even attempted to shoot him, according to the man. He arrived with a gun concealed in his pocket. Bobby had a bad heart, too.

After Darin’s passing, Francis praised him, saying, “He was an amazing human being. ”. the most intriguing person I’ve ever met. He displayed a tenacity that I had never seen before.

At age 37, the gifted singer and actor passed away. The songs “Splish Splash,” “Mack the Knife,” “Dream Lover,” and “Beyond the Sea” will always be remembered by those who heard him perform them.

Darin won a Golden Globe for his performance in his debut film, Come September, along with another teen idol, Sandra Dee, whom he married in 1960.

Francis, meanwhile, was assiduously pursuing her career while her father kept a close eye on her.

After lending her voice to actors and actresses, including Jayne Mansfield in The Sheriff of Fractured Jaw (1958), Hollywood eventually hired her for a prominent role and had her sing the hit song Where the Boys Are.

She continued to appear in the films up until 1965, when she made her last appearance in When the Boys Meet the Girls. She never did, however, really well at work.

“I didn’t feel at home there; I felt like I wasn’t supposed to be there. “I was so glad it was my last one,” she said in reference to her last film.

After Darin, she dated the blue-eyed actors Don Rickles and Frank Sinatra.

Prior to settling down with Joseph Garzilli, who she had an adoption with after only one year of marriage, Francis had previously been married four times and had been divorced twice. When they were still married, a man broke into her motel room after a concert in New York in 1974 and attacked her.

Following the tragic event, Francis experienced a severe depression and spent the following seven years living alone and relying on Darvon.

Her need for nasal surgery in 1977 resulted from her inability to sing in air-conditioned settings. She received three more treatments, but still showed no improvement. She was unable to speak for the following four years.

Gregory A. her brother,. Former district attorney and government witness Franconero was shot and killed in front of his house just as she was about to return, in what the police are calling a “mob killing.”.

Francis’ memoir from 2017 titled Among My Souvenirs is an open and honest account of her life and career, capturing the highs and lows she encountered.

Prior to his passing in 2022, she performed a duet of “You Made Me Love You” with Tony Ferretti, with whom she spent 18 years together.

She said that she wanted her present life to be remembered “not so much for the heights I have attained, but rather for the depths from which I have emerged.”.

She wants her tombstone to be inscribed with the words “I hope I did okay,” written by a New Jersey native who now calls Florida home. To commemorate turning 85, she wore a short navy blue kaftan with vibrant yellow flowers printed on it. Her hair, low-heeled practical sandals, and outfit were all perfectly styled; she also wore scarlet lipstick.

Connie Francis did an excellent job, in our opinion. Her difficult upbringing motivated her to devote her life to supporting mental health advocacy in order to aid other victims of violence.
