Kelly Clarkson received a significant amount of feedback from her followers after publishing a mysterious comment on her social media accounts.
A broken heart, a bottle of red wine, and a sun emoji were among the only emojis the singer used in a hastily posted message on Twitter. Before taking a screenshot and posting the message to Instagram, she also added three symbols to the end of her Twitter handle. Kelly’s fans went into a frenzy after her post, with many speculating in the comments that her eagerly anticipated new album is finally on the way.
Drop the album, one user wrote, and another added, “The album’s coming!!!”.
According to a fan, Kelly previously used the three emojis to represent her upcoming album on an episode of her NBC daytime program, The Kelly Clarkson Show. It’s finally here! It’s time for a new Kelly era, the commenters continued, adding, “I’m excited about the new Kelly era!!! Let’s get started!” She said these are the three emojis representing her upcoming album on the @kellyclarksonshow. Kelly announced her intentions to release new music in September of last year, telling Variety that the emotional turmoil of her divorce from Brandon Blackstock, with whom she shares two children, River Rose, 8, and Remington Alexander, 6, served as the inspiration for her upcoming songs.
“I went through a range of emotions when my ex and I first broke up. That was challenging, the 40-year-old at the time admitted. The album includes a lot of those. “Last night, my producer and I were laughing because I said, “Remember that time we wrote 25 songs in a week?”.
Most of these were written by me nearly two years ago. I therefore informed my label that it would take some time for me to review it before I could talk about it. We’ve celebrated Christmas a lot the past two years, in part because I thought, “Well, that’s happy!”. In a January Instagram post where she announced the release of her album, she made reference to her divorce. She told her followers, “I’m going to be honest with you, it took me a minute to release this album because I just had to be over it, through it, like all around it. I must get past it in order to discuss it.
The enigmatic remark was made only a few days after the actor paid tribute to Lance Reddick, who played John Wick’s antagonist prior to the actor’s tragic passing and who would appear in Thursday’s episode.
