Adrian Rodriguez is being recognized as a Good Samaritan for returning a wallet he found in a shopping cart.
The seventeen-year-old went above and beyond by defiantly refusing to simply hand the store manager the pocketbook. He used the address on the driver’s license inside the bag to locate the owner’s home and went out of his way to deliver the purse there.
Melina Martinez was Eliana Martin’s closest friend and she had recently moved out of her home, but she hadn’t yet updated her address on her driver’s license. Thankfully, Martinez’s aunt opened the door and took the purse from him.
Martinez heard the story when she got home, so she took a clip from the doorbell security camera and went looking for the boy to say “thank you.”.
Rodriguez eventually contacted him to reveal his identity after the video was widely shared. When questioned about why he went the extra mile to return the handbag, he replied that his mother had always told him to do the right thing even when no one was looking.
That is the essence of morality and character, both of which are frequently difficult to uphold. As a result, when the family and friends of the kind-hearted teen learned of him, they created a Gofundme account to raise money in order to express their gratitude to him.
Rodriguez undoubtedly received an unexpected blessing because the award nearly reached $9,000.00. On the GoFundMe page, a thank-you message and an update are posted by the closest friends. Pictures of Adrian and his mother driving the car he purchased with some of the donations are published.
This only serves to demonstrate the value of being kind.
