There’s a good reason Jeff Bridges is one of the most adored and respected actors in Hollywood.
He has not only maintained his relevance in a cutthroat, dynamic industry, but he has also upheld his moral standards.
If you’re a fan of Bridges, you probably know all about his recent battle with cancer, which he thankfully overcame. However, there’s a lot more to his story that you might not be aware of.
Bridges’ love story appeared to have been taken straight out of a Hollywood production. And it all began when a series of unanticipated incidents happened many years ago while he was filming a movie in Paradise Valley, Montana.
Many years ago, Susan Geston, who has been Jeff’s wife, was a waitress. According to legend, they met there.
She immediately caught his attention as being unique.
Susan was first noticed by the actor while he was filming “Rancho Deluxe.”. (1975). Geston was employed as a server in Chico Hot Springs when a scene was filmed there.
Bridges wrote in his later book, “The Dude and the Zen Master,” that he was unable to turn away. Instead, he tried sneaking glances here and there until, one day, after work, he worked up the courage to ask Geston out on a date.
However, Geston turned down his invitation. She kept turning down Bridges’ requests, even after he came back twice.
Bridges did not get the response he was hoping for, but Geston said, “It’s a small town; maybe we’ll run into each other. “.
The two agreed to meet again. One day when they weren’t at work, they ran into each other in a dance club, and Jeff claims that’s when he realized he was in love.
Geston agreed when he proposed a second date to her. The intended date conflicted with Jeff’s appointment with a real estate agent, which was the only issue.
Geston accepted his invitation, and the two—who weren’t officially dating—started property-surfing right away.
When they went to a ranch by a river, Jeff recalls a small voice saying in his ear, “You are now looking at a house with your future wife. “.
Susan and Jeff got hitched after two years. They’ve been together for more than 45 years, and they have three grown children.
