Denise Alexander is paying tribute to Jacklyn Zeman, a fellow General Hospital cast member who died unexpectedly on May 9 after a brief battle with cancer. Zeman passed away just three days after turning 70 and less than two weeks after her final General Hospital episode, which aired on April 27.
“Oh girl, I can’t stop crying because I keep hearing your voice and laughing.”. Your kindness, wit, brilliance, and lovely goodness have always been things I adored and treasured. The best hugs, as well. My love for you never changes. Denise,” Alexander penned in a brief letter that was first made public by Soap Hub on May 15.
Denise Alexander joined the cast of General Hospital in 1973 and took on the role of Dr. Lesley Webber. Nurse Bobbie Spencer was played by Jacklyn Zeman until 1977. Jacklyn and Denise became close friends both on and off camera before Jacklyn’s untimely death on May 9.
Not every member of Alexander’s previous cast remembered Zeman.
Anthony Geary, who played the show’s Luke Spencer, provided TVLine with an exclusive message on May 11, a few days after the celebrity’s passing. Geary’s character served as a big brother to Zeman’s character for more than 40 years.
I never once heard her criticize an actor, crew member, or fellow employee. In actuality, Jackie never once made negative remarks about anyone in my presence. In a fiercely competitive industry where ego, feelings, and emotions are essential to survival, I’ve found this quality to be extremely rare,” Geary wrote.
A soap opera executive producer named Frank Valentini was the first to announce her demise. She was “a bright light and true professional that brought so much positive energy to work,” he said, adding that while she would be greatly missed, her positive outlook will never be forgotten.
Online condolences started to pour in for Jacklyn Zeman as news of the deceased actor’s passing spread. The 70-year-old’s General Hospital TV family paid tribute to her generosity and positive outlook, even on her worst days, while mourning her loss. Her legacy will be treasured for all time.

Laura Wright, who played Carly Spencer, a character who served as Zeman’s daughter in the serial drama, wrote on Instagram that she had fun working on General Hospital.
Before Tamara Braun, who played Carly, joined Tamara Braun in praising Zeman, Wright assumed Carly’s role.

It’s critical to keep in mind Sarah Joy Brown, the first actress to portray Zeman’s daughter on General Hospital. Queen is gorgeous on the inside and out. I’m aware that the loss has saddened everyone who cared for her. She thanked Zeman on Twitter and credited her success to her. “My love to her girls, family, work fam, and admirers,” she wrote.
