In late April, on the day of their wedding, she passed away, leaving her devoted husband with the unimaginable task of planning her funeral. Samatha Leigh Miller and Aric Hutchinson reportedly had a beautiful ceremony on April 28 to celebrate their marriage. Just hours after the couple said their eternal vows to one another, Samantha, 34, was killed when “a reckless drunk driver” struck the golf cart she was riding in.
Aric was wounded severely but survived.
According to a GoFundMe page created to raise money for the funeral of Samantha and the medical expenses for him and two other family members who were in the golf cart, Benjamin Garrett and Brogan Garrett, Aric has been discharged from the hospital and is attempting to cope with the loss of his wife.
Aric and Samantha were reportedly leaving their wedding reception on Folly Beach, an island off the coast of South Carolina, when Jamie Lee Komoroski, 25, struck their golf cart while driving drunk at 65 mph in a 25 mph zone.
A man who lost his wife on the day of their wedding has now awakened and is preparing for her funeral.
Samantha’s mother, Lisa Miller, recalled that Samantha made the statement at the beginning of the golf cart ride: “I wish this night could go on forever.”. The night she will never forget. Lisa continued, “She (Komoroski) literally ran into my daughter while going 65 mph.”.
What the distraction was, I’m not sure.
While Sammie and Aric were riding in the golf cart, she essentially just whammed my child. Samantha was riding in the backseat with Aric, who was hurt badly. This week, on May 8, the GoFundMe page was updated with information about the groom’s injuries, which included “multiple injuries including two broken legs, one of which required surgery; broken bones in his face, another of which required surgery; broken vertebrae in his back; brain bleeds, and numerous cuts requiring stitches.”

The most recent reports state that he is now at home, where he is “trying to come to terms with the loss of his beautiful wife,” after being discharged from the hospital. ”.
According to his mother Annette, he is currently doing the unthinkable by arranging Sam’s funeral with her family. Brogan, the fourth passenger, was able to escape the accident with only minor wounds, but Benjamin Garrett is now recovering in the burn unit after undergoing surgery to clean and treat severe road rash and open wounds. Annette continued, “Our family is absolutely certain that a guardian angel was with him that evening. We are confident that, with love and support, he can recover from the trauma of taking part in this terrible accident at the age of 17. “They’re all three showing incredible strength despite their pain. ”.
Komoroski has been charged with three counts of felony DUI causing great bodily harm as well as one count of reckless vehicular homicide. On the GoFundMe page started after the accident, more than $700,000 has already been raised. We are praying for the Samantha’s family as they are going through a terrible time.
