The Aspinall Foundation works to put captive gorillas back in their natural environment. Damian Aspinall, the Foundation’s manager for the past ten years, has overseen the release of hundreds of gorillas into the wild. He grew particularly fond of Kwibi the gorilla over the course of this time. Damian raised Kwibi until he turned five, at which point he was returned to the wild.
About the gorilla he had raised, he had received warnings from everyone. When they finally connect after five years, I am unable to contain my tears.
They never anticipated bumping into each other again. Everyone cautioned Damian that Kwibi would probably have begun to adjust to the wild and would act aggressively toward anyone who tried to approach him, but five years later, Damian made the choice to look for his old friend.
