Bowering is working hard to ensure that Angelica grows up knowing that she is beautiful just the way she is despite the hurtful comments. The mother, 27, recently decided to apply makeup to her own face to mimic her five-year-old daughter’s birthmark. Bowering allegedly stated that she got the inspiration for the project from vascular birthmark awareness day, which encourages participants to draw hearts on their cheeks. “At first, I simply drew a heart on my face with makeup, but later I decided to go all out and recreate Angelica’s port wine stain.

Even though children with port wine stains on their faces are more prone to other health issues, Bowering assured TODAY that Angelica is healthy.
