Everyone has a different opinion on the custom of tipping one’s server, but there is no denying that it is a significant aspect of American restaurant culture. I was raised to tip wait staff consistently. I disagree that employers should be able to get away with underpaying their employees and putting the blame on the customer, but sadly, that is the way things are done. The livelihood of many waiters and waitresses depends on tips.
All things considered, I believe we can all agree that the majority of servers deserve the tips they get. They make a lot of effort to ensure customer satisfaction in 99 percent of the cases, so any extra money they earn as a result should be theirs by law. But there are rumors that a waitress at the Oven and Tap in Arkansas was fired after receiving a sizable tip from one table she was supervising.
When a satisfied customer leaves a waitress a $4,400 tip, what her employee did next is completely out of character.
Any happiness, however, soon turned to dismay as she soon received orders from the restaurant Oven and Tap.
