A five-year-old hero heard raging fires on a Sunday morning when he woke up, and his first thought was to save everyone else rather than himself.
Noah Woods, a five-year-old, grabbed his dog and sister and fled from the window. But he did so much more than that.
The first thing he did was save his sister and dog when an electrical fire broke out in his home on a Sunday morning.
A GoFundMe page was set up to pay for the family’s expenses.
“On the morning of February 9, my 5-year-old grandson woke us up by informing us that our house was on fire. We praise God for our Noah and his brave deeds. By the grace of God, we were all able to leave our home with all nine of our family members.
If Noah hadn’t been born, we might not be here right now. The electrical fire began in the children’s bedroom. Noah was roused when the flames entered his room. He quickly grabbed his sister Lilly, age 2, jumped out of the bedroom window, and ran to our son Josh’s house next door for help.
Within minutes, the nine of us had all made it to safety. “We praise God that we are all safe,” the GoFundMe page’s description begins. “.
“Our hero!” is what the Bartow County Fire Department wrote on their Facebook page.
5 year old Noah Woods just woke up to find his bedroom on fire. Only the window offered escape. He managed to escape the blaze with his 2-year-old sister before going back inside to alert the rest of the family.
Except for a minor burn on Noah’s wrist, all nine members of the family were able to leave the house unharmed.
Treatment for minor burns and smoke inhalation was given to Noah and four other family members. On Friday, BCFD Chief Dwayne Jamison will present him with a Lifesaving Award and a certificate designating him as an Honorary Bartow County Firefighter.

“If it weren’t for Noah, I mean, we were all asleep, so we wouldn’t have realized what was going on,” said Noah’s grandfather, David Woods. “We could have all passed away. “.
Although their home was in disarray, the family was fine. Donations came from all over the world to help this family cover the cost of rebuilding their home.
“We might not be here today if it weren’t for Noah,” David wrote.
