Casey DeSantis, the wife of Ron DeSantis, is a breast cancer survivor; the two fell in love unexpectedly.

The political career of Ron DeSantis has only gotten better.

Political activism had always run in the family for the Jacksonville, Florida native. DeSantis, a Harvard Law School alum who later served in the army before practicing law, made his first significant contribution to the country in 2012 when he was sworn into Congress. Although he has many supporters, many people have reservations about his future political views. But Casey DeSantis, who is his wife, is without a doubt his most vocal supporter.

Like many other relationships, Ron and Casey’s first meeting was rather peculiar. Three children were born into the couple’s large family after they fell in love. Ron DeSantis put a lot of effort into rising to the top of the political world, but his wife faced a different struggle. Casey survived a diagnosis that could have been fatal, and she is now doing well.

She might be recognized for something other than just being Ron’s wife, though. So let’s examine their union more closely.

Early years and baseball career of Ron DeSantis.

He was born on September 14, 1978, in Jacksonville, Florida, and as was already mentioned, he came from a political family. Although Ron’s grandfather was active in local politics, Ronald, Ron’s father, did not pursue a similar career. As opposed to that, he added Nielsen rating boxes to televisions while his mother Karen worked as a nurse.

DeSantis revealed to Fox News in February that his mother is from Northeastern Ohio and his father is from Western Pennsylvania. “So that’s like the heartland of steel. As you are aware, Mark, Florida is very eclectic, so that is like blue collar salt of the earth. We do have a culture, and people kind of come from all over, so I grew up in that culture, but really it was those Rust Belt values that kind of raised me. ”.

School was Ron DeSantis’ passion, and he attended Dunedin High School in Dunedin, Florida. Additionally, the Florida native had extraordinary baseball talent.

DeSantis proved he had what it took to possibly make it to Major League Baseball even at the young age of 12. In Williamsport, Pennsylvania, his team advanced to the Little League World Series. Ron achieved his first taste of fame as a result.

In 2001, DeSantis said to Yale News, “We were kind of like local celebrities for a while.”. “We were the top story on the front page of the Tampa area newspapers and in the neighborhood newscasts”.

After graduating from high school, DeSantis continued playing baseball. He enrolled at Yale, where he played outfield for the team for four years. He eventually rose to the position of team captain for the Yale Bulldogs baseball squad.

According to Sports Illustrated, Ron DeSantis played 152 games during his four-year college career, batting.313 with an on-base percentage of.361 and an OPS of.817, 11 home runs, 88 RBI, and 27 stolen bases.

“Yale University’s most employable student.”.

Ron was the Bulldogs’ top hitter during his senior season. 336, with a . 370 OBP.

Kyle Cousin, another member of his team, told the Yale News at the time, “He’s a great captain.”. He provides assistance to all. Both on and off the field, he is a true leader. ”.

Ron DeSantis did not come from a wealthy background. He is a “proud Floridian of humble beginnings,” according to his Congressional Candidate biography, who understands the “value of hard work. ”.

It went on to say that in order to pay for college, the student “swept floors, collected trash, moved furniture, parked cars, assisted an electrician, coached baseball clinics, set up hospitality tents, and earned a reputation as the most employable student at Yale University.”.

DeSantis earned his Bachelor of Arts in 2001, majoring in history, and graduated with honors. He continued his education at Harvard Law School, where he graduated with honors in 2005 and obtained his Juris Doctor.

Many people may believe that a Harvard or Yale education would be beneficial. Ron DeSantis, however, has other suggestions in hindsight.

He claimed that Yale’s curriculum contained “hostility to the Almighty and disparagement of America” in an interview with Fox that aired in February of this year. ”.

Work in Iraq by Ron DeSantis.

Moreover, he was worried that voters would be skeptical of him because he attended “elite” schools.

In his book The Courage to Be Free, DeSantis stated, “I viewed having graduated from Yale and Harvard Law School to be political scarlet letters as far as a GOP primary went.”. “The voters valued education and probably thought I was a smart guy, but those ‘elite’ universities had come to be so closely associated with leftist ideology and a mindset of the ruling class that it was only natural for most grassroots conservatives to be wary of those establishments. ”.

Although he would later in his career, Ron DeSantis did not immediately begin practicing law. Instead, at Harbard, the future governor of Florida received his commission as a US Navy Judge Advocate Officer (JAG). He supported operations at the Guantanamo Bay terrorist detention facilities, among other things, and later served as an adviser to a US Navy Seal commander while stationed in Iraq.

For his service, he received the Bronze Star Medal and the Iraq Campaign Medal. DeSantis continued his career in the legal system after leaving active duty, working as a federal prosecutor who specialized in hunting down and convicting child predators. He was aiming for a political career at the time, though.

As the US Representative for Florida’s Sixth District, DeSantis was elected to Congress in 2012. His popularity continued to rise. While he was in office, he made several important points, including the No Budget/No Pay Act and tax reduction. Additionally, according to his official webpage, the Florida native turned down his Congressional pension and health insurance plan because he believed it was unfair to the general public.

DeSantis sponsored legislation to make it simpler for the military to prosecute sexual assault because he had a strong support for the military.

As his work in Congress advanced, DeSantis also cofounded the conservative House Freedom Caucus and started appearing frequently on Fox News.

Politics as a career.

A national following had developed for the former baseball superstar by that time. DeSantis undoubtedly gained more support thanks to Fox News. And Ron was among the most ardent supporters of the real estate magnate when he launched his presidential campaign in 2017.

DeSantis announced his candidacy for governor of Florida after receiving support from Donald Trump in 2018. He narrowly defeated Democrat Andrew Gillum with a 49 percent to 49 percent vote in the general election. Despite having a sizable following, DeSantis and his supporters came under fire frequently during the campaign for their treatment of Gillum, who sought to make history by becoming the first African American governor of Florida.

When DeSantis took office in 2019, the Covid-19 pandemic quickly followed, bringing with it what many consider to be some controversial policies.

Later on, as he backed several contentious policies, DeSantis received praise from his supporters and harsh criticism from others. For instance, the Parental Rights in Education Act restricted the discussion of gender identity and sexual orientation in public schools. The “Don’t Say, Gay” Act was so-called by critics, and when Disney expressed displeasure with it, DeSantis decided to revoke the company’s tax breaks and status as a self-governing entity.

Additionally, he supported the Individual Freedom Act, also known as the “Stop WOKE Act,” which was created to “protect Floridians from discrimination and woke indoctrination”.
