In the world we live in today, faith seems to be fading into the background. Personally, I don’t think it benefits society, and I most definitely wouldn’t advise people to give up their religious convictions, but sadly, that seems to be the way things are moving. Of course, there are still those who openly extol the virtues of their faith and the healing it can accomplish. Celebrities like Mark Wahlberg and Vince Gill have taken risks to defend their beliefs, and Chris Pratt, a Hollywood A-lister, appears to be no different when it comes to his commitment to his religion.
The cherished actor attended a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 debuts. 3 recently when asked about the criticism he receives. In his response, Pratt compared the animosity he encounters to that of Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago and claimed it was nothing new.
“If I were from this world, they would love me just as much, but I’ve chosen from another. They are found in John 15: 18–20. They also mocked him (Jesus) 2,000 years ago, so it’s nothing new. The 43-year-old’s career has improved steadily over the last ten years. He achieved great success thanks to his performances in films like Zero Dark Thirty (2013), the Jurassic World trilogy, and The Terminal List (2022). Despite his fame and stature, Pratt recently came under fire before reprising his role as Star-Lord in the Marvel Studios film series Guardians of the Galaxy. The 2019 rumors that he attended a church that was anti-LGBTQ+ brought him a lot of criticism.
When those allegations first surfaced, Pratt addressed them in a letter that began, “It has recently been suggested that I belong to a church which ‘hates a certain group of people’ and is ‘infamously anti-LGBTQ. Nothing could be more false than it is. I go to a church where everyone is welcome. My faith is important to me, he continued, despite the fact that no church defines me or my life. Pratt insisted that Jesus’ trials have inspired him in response to the most recent criticism he has experienced from his critics, which includes a variety of online trolls.
Additionally, the actor appears to have a pretty robust strategy for dealing with haters. According to him, one should “stick their head down, keep moving forward, have thick skin, and if anyone gets in your way, stick the horn right up their ass!”.
I don’t know how you feel about people like Christ Pratt, but I’m so proud of them for being able to talk about their faith in such an honest and open way. If you think your faith is strong, let us know what you think in the comments.
