Chuck Morris of the Lotus Drums and his son Charley have died after a 24-day search.

Last weekend in Arkansas, nearly a month after the two men went missing while kayaking, the bodies of musician Chuck Morris and his son Charley were discovered.

On Sunday, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that Morris, 47, and Charley, 20, had been missing for 24 days and that their remains had been found close to Lost Bridge Village in Beaver Lake.

“Sheriff [Shawn] Holloway would like to thank all the men and women who donated their time and efforts to help bring comfort to the family and recover the two missing men,” read the statement. To Chuck and Charley’s family, we also want to express our gratitude”.

Separately, the Morris family asserted on their GoFundMe page that Charley’s cause of death had been determined to be drowning. The cause of the senior Morris’s death has not yet been determined.

While Charley was a student at Ohio Wesleyan University, Morris was the drummer for the electronic band Lotus from Denver. The two had vanished on March 16 while on a spring break family trip to Beaver Lake. They were last seen after that.

Lotus announced on social media that a recovery effort had been started in place of the search five days after the two men went missing.

The band stated, “At this point, the search for Chuck and Charley has changed to a recovery.”. We all prayed for a miracle. We have plans to celebrate Chuck and Charley’s lives, our memories of them, and the significance they had for so many people, even though we are in a deep state of mourning. Everyone who has provided words of encouragement, stories, donations, and other forms of support is appreciated.

On April 21 and 22, Lotus intends to give two concerts at Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium in honor of Morris and his child. Additionally, the family will benefit from upcoming performances in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Port Chester, New York.

About three years after the “jamtronica” band Lotus was founded at Goshen College in Indiana, Morris joined the group. Over the course of the past 25 years, Lotus has released 13 studio albums and live recordings. It released its most recent album last year, “Bloom and Recede.”.
