Due to Goop, Gwyneth Paltrow’s wellness company, she is frequently linked to a high-end lifestyle. Many people wanted to know more as word of her well-known trial spread.

Terry Sanderson, a retired optometrist, has sued Paltrow on the grounds that she assaulted him in 2016.

The Sanderson and Paltrow accident happened at Utah’s Deer Valley Ski Resort on February 26, 2016.

The two sides couldn’t agree on the specifics of the event, including its timing and location.

The trial began March 21, 2023, and the closing arguments were delivered by the attorneys on March 30, 2023.

He “was knocked down quickly, knocked unconscious, and suffered head injury, four fractured ribs, and other critical injuries.”.

He asked for $300,000 in damages rather than $3.1 million the month after.

But in February 2019, Paltrow filed her own lawsuit. She asserted that Sanderson “plowed into her back” and gave her a “full ‘body blow,'” leaving her “shook and upset. ”. Her injuries were “very minor,” according to her.

In her words, the legal action was an “attempt to take advantage of her fame and wealth.”.

She requested $1 in exemplary damages, “plus her costs and attorney’s fees,” for the inconvenience of having to defend herself against “this baseless allegation”.

After hearing Paltrow and Sanderson’s testimony regarding the collision, the jury deliberated on who should be held accountable for the incident.

Sanderson claimed to be moving down, while Paltrow allegedly was ascending. There was nothing in my line of sight.

In his memory, he “was struck in my back” after hearing a “blood-curdling scream. ”. Then, “it [was] all black,” he continues. ”.

“I tried to move, but not a single limb would budge. “I couldn’t turn my head. I was immobile, said the retired optometrist. ”. “There was no reply.”.

He believes his personality has changed as a result of the accident. He claims that his words are now “backward and upside-down“.

He also described himself as a “self-imposed recluse” and said he no longer feels “as engaged” or “has the same spark” as he once did.

She recalled going skiing with their father, Apple and Moses, and her boyfriend Brad Falchuk.

“Mr. “, she argued. With a ski, Sanderson struck me directly in the back. She said she was “extremely upset” following the collision”.

When Sanderson’s attorney asked if she felt “some sympathy for Mr. Sanderson’s failing brain,” she responded, “I do.”. I feel bad because of him. His life certainly seems to have been difficult. “.

But I did not cause the accident,” she adamantly insisted. I therefore cannot be held accountable for anything that followed that”.

There were many witnesses who gave testimony, including two of Sanderson’s children, his ex-girlfriend, the person Sanderson’s lawyer claims is the only witness to the collision, a ski expert, Deer Valley employees, and others.

Steve Owens, Paltrow’s attorney, said: “We are pleased with this unanimous decision and value the jury and judge’s thoughtful handling of the case. Gwyneth has a history of standing up for what she believes in, and she will continue to do so in the future.
