This couple took an exceptional action for their neighbor, who they hardly knew. They got something special as a reward.
It’s one thing to invite the kids of your relatives over after a tragedy. Everyone has heard stories about family members bringing up the kids of their adopted brothers or sisters.
But would you take in the kids of a neighbor you hardly knew?
Two Las Vegas-based casino employees named Tisha and Kevin Beauchmin did just that. Everything began when Audrey asked her next-door neighbor Tisha to watch her three kids while she went to the hospital for some tests.
Mother of five Tisha claimed there was no problem. She was unaware that she would eventually attempt to adopt those kids. Audrey received a stage 2 terminal oesophageal and stomach cancer diagnosis.
“Audrey asked Tisha to be the legal guardian for her kids,” said Elizabeth Thames, who proposed the Beauchmins for the FOX 5 Surprise Squad.
”.
That was not long before she passed away. ”.
After adopting children of a dying neighbor, a couple’s home is completely changed.
Tisha, who was raised in an orphanage, and her husband adopted the children because she didn’t want them to grow up alone.
Tisha said, “I’m becoming a foster mother so I can be their mother.”. I don’t want children to ever go through anything that I did as a child because I believe that children deserve to be children. They have experienced far too much. They ought to live in a cozy home with a loving family. ”.
A lot of people were shocked that the Beauchmins, who already had five children of their own, would take in the children of their neighbors.
Nobody I know would show these kids their heart, Thames said of everyone in the world. ”.
The Beauchmins could only take on the role of the children’s foster parents if they divided up two of their bedrooms into separate areas and provided a bed for each child. They simply couldn’t afford to do that, and they were unsure of their alternatives.
Then the Surprise Squad showed up.
The FOX 5 Las Vegas Surprise Squad and their partners in remodeling and furnishing the Beauchmins’ home made it possible for each child to have their own bed. They built the wall partition, redecorated the entire house, gave their 18-year-old son $1,500 to assist him in moving into a new apartment, and gave the family a car that could accommodate 12 people.
Under the lovely Christmas tree they brought in, they made sure there were gifts for the kids. The family was also given enough food for an entire year.
When asked how we would get food, Kevin sobbed and said, “It’s usually so difficult to figure out. “We always do it, but there won’t be any stress.”. That’s amazing. ”.
According to Tisha, the only thing she wants is for their family to always be made up of ten people.
It really is overwhelming that someone would do this for me and my family, the woman said. There was nothing particularly noteworthy that I did. Anyone in my shoes would have made the same decision. My favorites among all eight of them. As long as they’re happy, I’m happy. ”.
Since the big surprise, Tisha has taken a second job and Kevin has joined the police department once more. If you can, please make a donation to the family’s GoFundMe page here.
