Incredibly shocking news was revealed by Serena Williams at the MET Gala.

Williams wowed in a stunning black and white outfit encrusted with countless pearls, as did her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.

But the most amazing thing about Williams’ appearance at the MET Ball was probably the little secret she revealed. Williams and Ohanian revealed their second pregnancy during a chat with Vogue correspondent La La Anthony!

Alexander Olympia Ohanian Jr. as well as the second kid. their oldest child.

Williams has previously been open about her first labor experience. In 2022, shortly after the birth of her daughter Olympia, Williams revealed the terrifying moment when she managed to save her own life.

In an article for Elle that she adapted from the anthology Arrival Stories: Women Share Their Experiences of Becoming Mothers, edited by Amy Schumer and Christy Turlington Burns, Williams talked about how standing up for herself after giving birth saved her life.

Williams continued, “The stakes of the game have changed for me since having a baby. Before the Olympics, my body was used primarily for tennis. ”.

“Tennis has owned my body for such a long time. I am familiar with my body, and I have suffered from every kind of injury imaginable,” she writes. “Two days prior to the 2017 Australian Open, my body had already shifted its allegiance when I found out I was pregnant”.

Because the game’s main focus was on developing and raising this baby, who appeared to have been discovered haphazardly, my stakes have changed now that I am a parent. I am the only active player with 23 Grand Slam victories to my name. Success is now a desire rather than a necessity, though”.

Even though I still strive for titles, success, and respect, having a lovely daughter at home does not motivate me to get out of bed in the morning. This game has more to teach the player than just how to win, she says.

“I’ve learned to get back up after failing, to defend what is significant at all costs, and to demand what is right — even when it makes me unpopular. In the end, having my child tested how often and how loudly I would need to yell before someone would finally hear me.

Additionally, she mentioned how until she met Olympia’s child, she had no personal connection to her. “I couldn’t wait to see my child. Throughout my pregnancy, we never developed a relationship. ”.

Even though I enjoyed it, my pregnancy wasn’t all that amazing. This is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen, my god. People try to steer clear of discussing it because we’re supposed to fall in love right away. I wasn’t swooning over her, despite the fact that I was a fierce lioness who would do anything to protect her cub. I looked forward to the time when I would feel like I knew her throughout my pregnancy. I felt better when some of my mom’s friends acknowledged that they shared the same connection while in the womb, but I didn’t stop longing for it.

Williams, who has previously discussed her traumatic birth experience, describes the crowded birthing room in her article, from the “meetings going on without me” to her desperate need for “calm, affirmative direction. Williams’ doctor ultimately advised her to have a C-section, and the athlete said she was “relieved to let go” after hearing this”.

“Controlling and utilizing your body’s power are essential aspects of being an athlete, but you also need to know when to give up. The energy in the room completely changed, she said, and I felt thrilled and relieved to let go. As a result of this difficult, seemingly endless process, we have a clear plan for bringing this baby into the world. ”.

Her postpartum journey allowed Williams to reclaim her independence. “Black women in the US have a nearly threefold higher risk of dying during or shortly after giving birth. Many of these deaths, according to specialists, could have been prevented,” she says.

“I know those statistics would be different if the medical establishment listened to every Black woman’s experience, but being heard and receiving the proper care made the difference between life and death,” she said”.

Williams continued by saying that before she could speak with her doctor and ask for a CAT scan of her lungs after numerous procedures, none of the nurses in her immediate vicinity “really listened to what I was saying”.

“I fought hard, and I received the CAT scan at last. I appreciate her, she writes. A blood clot was discovered in my lungs, and the doctors had to put a filter into my veins to dissolve it before it reached my heart.
