Even though the likelihood of having twins increased by 72% between 1980 and 2018, it is still relatively uncommon. 33 twins per 1,000 live births is the average rate. The likelihood of having identical twins is about three to four per 1,000 live births. Therefore, once more, unusual.
23-year-old Savannah Combs was ecstatic to learn she was expecting twins. They both had Down syndrome, which she later found to be yet another rarity. The news was undoubtedly distressing, as is obvious. Savannah and Justin Ackerman knew that because of their condition, some people would judge them and their family.
In spite of this, Savannah values them greatly. They are her little gems, she told News4JAX, pointing out how unusual what they have is.
On February 6, 2022, Mckenli Kennadi Ackerman published a photo dump.
The Middleburg, Florida-native Savannah, along with her daughters Kennadi Rue and Mckenli Ackerman, shared their postpartum experience on TikTok, where they quickly gained followers. In one of her videos, Savannah alleged that she had been told to have an abortion because her children wouldn’t live.
So that she could give them a chance, she decided to keep them. Every [prenatal] appointment while they were alive was a blessing to me, said Savannah.
When she learned that both of them had Down syndrome, her husband was away at boot camp. Savannah was 29 weeks pregnant with her unborn daughters when she was admitted to the hospital. Kennadi Rue and Mckenli Ackerman, identical twin girls, were born on May 12, 2021.
Because the twins were born two months early, they had to spend several weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) before being discharged.
Original music by @savannahcombs1 is titled “Down With The Ackerman Twins.”.
As she put it, “They’re called mono di twins, which means that they had their own sacs but shared the same placenta, meaning that they were going to be identical. Right now, twin pregnancy is very unusual. The odds of having Down syndrome on top of that are roughly 1 in 2 million. ”.
Covid was defeated by us all, and we are now all happy again. On January 26, 2022, McKenli Kennadi Ackerman said this.
They are just like any other child, according to Savannah, despite their unusual condition.
“They have feelings.
Their pulse is occurring. They can talk to one another. They are capable of doing things that you can. She affirmed that they would succeed. They might be a step behind, but they will still succeed, as I previously stated. These children seem to be both happy and spirited, as far as I can tell. ”.
Each time a child reaches a milestone, Savannah updates TikTok with sweet videos. I’m going to reassure them that they can succeed if they set their minds to it and that they are just like us. ”.
Even so, some people can’t help but criticize Savannah and her family. The young mother was consequently forced to respond to some shockingly insensitive social media users.

“I wouldn’t want those babies; if mine came out like that, they would be straight up for adoption,” one person wrote in a letter to the mother.
”.
However, Savannah had the perfect reply, which she shared on Facebook. I remarked that it was fortunate that they were born to me and not to you. When He matched these infants with devoted parents who would look after them no matter what, God knew what He was doing. ”.
