Jamie Lee Curtis explains why she gave her Oscar statue they/them pronouns.

Jamie Lee Curtis is too strong to be brought down from her post-Academy high.

The star of Everything, Everywhere at Once made an appearance on The Today Show earlier this month to discuss her incredible accomplishment and her joyous new possession of a coveted Academy Award.

She also talked about how she planned to mention her landmark.

The desire for appreciation and recognition for one’s work is widespread, according to Curtis. You assume that your employer values your contribution. Furthermore, this is a gorgeous, glittering badge of appreciation. ”.

The 64-year-old performer received her most treasured Foundation Grant for her role in everything, wherever on the double.

Curtis explained, “Both my mother and father received Foundation Grants in various categories. “I was just awarded an Oscar!

She expressed her gratitude to her family and everyone who has supported her “kind flicks” since she began her career in 1977 during a moving speech of appreciation.

When Curtis joined Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb on the Today Show on March 14, she confessed that she was still in shock.

“Everything about it makes me feel something; I never in a million years imagined having these few days. ”.

When asked if she had named the figurine, Curtis provided a lovely justification for her choice.

In honor of her 26-year-old daughter Ruby, she would use the pronouns “they” or “them” when referring to her Oscar statue. In 2021, Curtis learned that her youngest child was transsexual.

The entertainer made sense by saying, “I’m having them be they/them on the side of my girl Ruby.”. I’ll just refer to them as “them,” and I think they’re doing fantastic.

They are adjusting. ”.

Jamie Lee claims that a young person who comes out as transgendered faces a challenging learning curve.

It’s speaking in another language, she elucidated. It involves picking up new vocabulary and terms. To it, I’m unique. I’m not going to claim to be an expert on it. I’ll waste it as well”.

I will commit mistakes. I would like to stay away from major mistakes,” she said.

I’ve made two mistakes today, and you still make mistakes. We’re only human”.

But if just one person reads this, sees a picture of Ruby and me, and decides, “I feel free to say this is who I am,” then it will have been worthwhile, she claims. It’s worthwhile, though”.

Ruby has lived her entire life out of the public eye despite being a member of a Hollywood dynasty. She’s currently working as a video editor for a YouTube gamer.

I was aware of Ruby’s boyfriend. I was aware that Ruby had used the word “bi.”. Gender identity and sexual orientation, however, are separate concepts, according to the two-time Golden Globe winner”.

Hey Jamie, we’re excited that you finally won. It was fully and significantly overdue.
