“John Travolta Pays Tribute to ‘Grease’ Co-Star Treat Williams: “You Will Be Sorely Missed””

In two prestigious Broadway productions in the 1970s, the actors appeared on stage together.

Treat Williams, a deceased friend and fellow Broadway performer who passed away on Monday at the age of 71 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident, is remembered by John Travolta.

At a black-and-white screening of the early 1970s movie Over Here!, Travolta, 69, posted a photo of two actors onstage.

Travolta’s Instagram Story was captioned, “Treat and I got our start together in NYC playing in 2 Broadway shows: Grease and Over Here. My apologies, Treat. I’m thinking about you and your family. The world will miss you. I cherish you, John. ”.

It is well known that the Broadway production of Over Here!, a musical set in the United States during World War II, was the catalyst for the careers of many well-known actors.

Williams played Danny Zuko, the part Travolta later played in the 1978 film adaptation of the musical, while Travolta played Doody in the Broadway production of Grease.

Williams and Travolta appeared in the films Grease and Over Here! with Marilu Henner. She mentions her early feelings of kinship with Williams.

Williams assisted Henner, 71, in getting back on her feet during the historic event.

“When we first started out, he let me stay at his apartment in New York,” the Taxi actor alleged. “After we had performed on Broadway and the musical had been canceled before I had another job, he allowed me to stay in his apartment while he was away working another gig. ”.

Williams and Henner will both work as actors on the Hallmark Channel in the future.

Williams has more than 120 credits and a career spanning four decades. In 1975’s thriller Deadly Hero, he made his screen debut. Following that, he started to take on more acting roles in movies, such as Hair in 1979, which led to his first Golden Globe nomination for actor in a new star of the year. Later, for his performance in 1981’s Prince of the City, he was nominated for another Golden Globe for best actor in a drama film.

He made his acting debut in 2002 as Dr. Andrew “Andy” Brown on the WB series Everwood. He played the show’s main character throughout all four seasons, and in 2003–04 he was nominated for a SAG Award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series.

He also contributed to the following films and television programs: 1941 by Steven Spielberg, Heart of Dixie, Blue Bloods, The Late Shift, Chicago Fire, Chesapeake Shores, The Christmas House by Hallmark, The Noel Diary by Netflix, and Christmas on the sq. by Dolly Parton.

Along with his wife, the actress Pam Van Sant, the actor is survived by his two children, Gill and Ellie.
