Kathy Griffin’s vocal cord has been paralyzed as a result of her battle with lung cancer.
The 62-year-old comedian announced her lung cancer diagnosis in an August 2021 social media post, writing: “I’ve needed to tell you, guys, something. Cancer has impacted me. My left lung’s lower third is about to be surgically removed. I never smoked, but I do have lung cancer.

Due to the early stage and limited impact on my left lung, the doctors are very optimistic. By the time this is over, hopefully, I won’t require radiation or chemotherapy, and my breathing will be back to normal. I should be able to return to normal in a month or less, she said.

She told her fans she had been given the all-clear from cancer during a December appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The tumor, which she said had been present “for ten years,” was purportedly completely removed at the time, but she later updated her status on TikTok on Wednesday night, claiming she had undergone one more procedure to ensure her general health.
Throughout Kathy’s vocal chord surgery, she kept her followers informed. She first uploaded a video of her pre-op visit, in which she could be seen sitting in the doctor’s office wearing a gorgeous floral coat and, no less, a sparkling red shirt.
After calling her doctor a “kickass female voice surgeon,” she posted a video of herself having a camera inserted through her nose and down her throat. She showed close-up photographs of her vocal cords and said that her left vocal cord had been paralyzed.

In the video that followed her successful operation, the famous person could be seen. A blue marker mark can be seen on the left side of her neck while she is still lying in a hospital bed.
“I want to be in the best shape for my big Vegas show on June 17, and this is only a part of my recovery after lung cancer surgery,” she said to the camera.
She exclaimed joyfully, “I’m free of lung cancer. I’m a little scratchy today, but I’ll be fine. ”.
