Legendary rock and roll singer Tina Turner passes away at age 83.

After a protracted illness, INGER TINA TURNER passed away at the age of 83, according to her publicist.

Proud Mary and What’s Love Got To Do With It were among Turner’s most popular songs, and she was well-known for her energetic stage performances.

In 2008, she stopped performing on the road.

The American-Swiss singer, born Anna Mae Bullock in Nutbush, Tennessee, has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as well as the St. Louis Walk of Fame. Over the course of her more than 60-year career, she has won eight Grammy Awards.

What’s Love Got To Do With It, based on her autobiography I, Tina, dramatized the mother-of-two’s notoriously tumultuous relationship with Ike Turner and saw Angela Bassett nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of Tina in the biopic. The 1993 film was a box office success.

Turner, known as the “Queen of Rock and Roll,” married her longtime German love, music executive Erwin Bach, in 2013 in a Swiss civil ceremony. They have been living together in Switzerland since 1994.

The musician, whose first marriage lasted from 1962 to 1978 to musician Ike, entered into a second union.

In her book from 1986, the singer detailed a horrifying account of abuse, including how she broke her nose while still married to Ike.

Ike passed away in December 2007, and Tina is aware of it, her spokeswoman was cited as saying at the time.

In the 35 years since they last spoke, she hasn’t.

After receiving an intestinal cancer diagnosis in 2016 and undergoing a kidney transplant in 2017, she had recently experienced ill health.
