Every amateur collector and treasure hunter hopes to find something that is significantly more valuable than they initially believed it to be, whether that value is monetary or sentimental. There is a good reason why so many people take treasure hunting seriously. Some people are so good at it that they ultimately decide to make it their career.
Despite how many storage units you search through, old chests you open, and antique vases you purchase in the hope of finding something valuable, truly life-changing discoveries are rare. In May 2017, treasure hunter Anton Lulgjuraj discovered a 50-year-old wallet in a locked, abandoned room. In New York State, Lulgjuraj began his journey of buying used storage units years earlier.
Even though his find wasn’t going to make him wealthy, it was more than enough to garner media attention once the identity of the wallet’s previous owner was revealed.
In May 2017, Anton Lulgjuraj purchased an abandoned locker with the intention of finding something valuable inside. According to reports, he had no idea what was being kept in the unit, but when he opened it, he found a number of items that had once belonged to an Air Force pilot. Within a tiny box was a worn-out, outdated wallet. A California driver’s license from Diane Hall from the late 1960s was in the wallet, but Anton couldn’t flog the big find.
The woman’s name and age, which the card listed as 20, didn’t particularly interest Anton, but he still rummaged through the wallet and discovered an actor’s equity card and a few old pictures. Anton began conducting research after being drawn in by the images and the equity card.
The star of Something’s Gotta Give was the target of Anton’s subsequent tweet in an effort to get her attention.
Amazingly, his efforts had brought him to the startling conclusion that “Diane Hall” had become the renowned actress Diane Keaton. She may want to be reunited with her old wallet, he reasoned, even though it was 50 years old.
Participant “I think everyone has the hope that like if they lose a wallet, there’s a hope that, you know, you’ll get your wallet back one day,” Anton said.
And I must say, this is awesome. According to reports, Keaton initially chose not to respond to Anton’s tweet. But when the New York Daily News covered the story, the actress learned about it. Keaton, who is currently 77 years old, enthusiastically shared Anton’s discovery on Instagram. “SOMEONE FOUND A WALLET I LOST 50 YEARS AGO! THANK YOU, MR. LULGJURAJ,” the post’s subject line read.
Wow, what a fantastic find Anton had made, and what a lovely way to end the story when Diane revealed the find. So that your friends can read it, share this article with them.
