Jayne Mansfield received praise from Mariska Hargitay on the day she would have turned 90.
Using a picture of her mother, the Law and Order: SVU actress posted a heartfelt message to Instagram.
Hello, happy birthday, mom. Every day, we try to love you more, Hargitay wrote in a letter.
The Rock Hunter actress also uploaded a quick mother-daughter video to her Instagram Story.
In the 1950s and 1960s, Mansfield, who was born Vera Jayne Palmer on April 19, 1933, rose to fame as one of Hollywood’s most recognizable blonde bombshells. The “Working Man’s Monroe,” she was regarded as Marilyn Monroe’s opposite”.
She was also a Playboy Playmate and made several film appearances, including The Sheriff of a Fractured Jaw, Promises! Promises!, and The Girl Can’t Help It.
In a tragic car accident in 1967, she tragically passed away, ending her life far too soon. It was now Mansfield’s 34th birthday.
In the backseat of the car at the time were three-year-old Hargitay and two of her siblings. The children weren’t hurt, and neither were Mansfield, her friend Sam Brody, their driver Ronnie Harrison, but they all passed away right away.
The author says, “I think that early crisis exposure taught me that nothing is certain. Then we alter it in accordance with Glamour,” she declared in 2021. The speaker proclaimed, “My early life trauma has been a blessing”.
She continued, “I spent a good deal of my childhood in that frozen place trying to survive, really trying to survive. “Unveiling the layers and learning to trust again has been the process of my life,” the speaker said”.
