Riley Keough, the daughter of Lisa Marie Presley, and Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie’s mother and Elvis’ ex-wife, engaged in a legal dispute over Lisa Marie’s estate.
On January 12, 2023, the singer and Elvis Presley’s lone child tragically passed away from a heart attack. Sadly, the Presley family experienced a great deal of conflict after Lisa Marie passed away too soon. According to a report from the 26th of January, Priscilla had contested the 2016 modification to Lisa Marie’s last will and testament that gave Riley and her late brother Benjamin Keough control over the estate.
Riley Keough and Priscilla Presley’s disagreement over Lisa Marie’s estate has been settled.
Priscilla, Elvis’ ex-wife, allegedly disputed Lisa Marie’s signature on the document due to other irregularities and what appeared to be an unnotarized signature. The grandmother and granddaughter settled their legal disputes for an undisclosed sum on May 16 after months of litigation.
A singer is currently being considered to act as the trustee for the singer of “Lights Out.”.
Riley Keough will serve as the only executor of Lisa Marie Presley’s estate.
There has been another development in the dispute surrounding Lisa Marie Presley’s business affairs.
According to court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Riley Keough officially replaced twins Harper and Finley Lockwood as “sub-trusts” on June 12 and became the sole trustee of her mother’s estate.
The dispute over Lisa Marie’s estate between Priscilla Presley and Riley Keough is over.
Priscilla Presley is said to have received a “trustee fee” from the estate, but the “Daisy Jones and the Six” actress’s attorney stated in the document that she won’t.
Priscilla will still have a small role in the settlement, which will be funded by a “one-time” payment from the trust of Lisa Marie’s half-brother Navarone Garibaldi, as he is the trustee of the sub-trust.
After receiving satisfaction for her “request for document interpretation” regarding Lisa Marie’s trust, Priscilla stated that the Presley family is stronger than ever and that the legal snafu is behind them.
She stated in her statement, “I want to make it clear that no lawsuit has ever been filed against my lovely granddaughter, despite the fact that some media outlets mischaracterized such a plea as a lawsuit. We’re happy with how our family handled this situation. I sincerely hope that everyone will give my family and I the time and space we need to process Lisa Marie’s death in private. ”.
