Sending healing vibes to beloved carpenter Ty Pennington, who was intubated after a medical emergency.

Ty Pennington is updating his fans on his condition after being hospitalized and intubated just hours after attending the Barbie premiere.

In a medical gown, Pennington, who is best known for playing the carpenter on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, posted pictures of himself on Instagram on July 14.

Before Pennington came to, he was intubated at one point. It’s been an interesting week, from the red carpet to the intensive care unit.

Pennington continued, “I’m okay now, still recovering but I felt it looked weird that I hadn’t posted about my teams BOTB VICTORY! SO freaking proud of @smashingdiy and @iamstevelewis!!”.

Pennington went on to describe the specifics of what happened. To clarify why I disappeared, I attended the red carpet for @barbiethemovie on Sunday, traveled to Colorado on Monday to start the Breckinridge production, and woke up at 4 a.m. m.
Tuesday, I was having trouble breathing.
The sore throat I’ve had for the past month is actually an abscess that has gotten so big that it’s blocking my airway. The very next instant, I was intubated and taken to the Denver ICU.

After having surgery on Wednesday, I was discharged from the intensive care unit yesterday afternoon. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff at Summit Health in Frisco and St. Thanks to Anthony’s in Lakewood, Colorado, for taking such great care of me. Pennington’s caption, “Just happy to be here,” along with the hashtag serve as a great reminder to listen to your body when it’s trying to communicate with you.

We are so relieved to learn that Pennington is doing well and recovering—how frightening!
