Ozzy Osbourne declared he was done performing following back surgery and postponed all of his events.
The 74-year-old singer is coping with a number of medical issues, including Parkinson’s disease, with which he was identified four years ago.
Ozzy’s European tour was originally slated to start in May 2019, but it was postponed to 2021 and 2022 before being completely canceled.
His final performance took place in Inglewood, California in December 2018 as a part of the “No More Tours II: Ozzfest” festival.
The well-known frontman of Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, issued an apology to his Instagram followers on Wednesday.
Due to complications from a severe spinal injury he suffered four years ago, he expressed regret that he would not be able to take part in upcoming tour dates.
After three operations and numerous therapies, including stem cell therapy and cybernetics (HAL) Therapy, Ozzy said it was “one of the most difficult things” he had ever had to communicate. He explained that while he had recovered his singing voice, his body was still too weak.
He continued by saying that even though he appreciated and understood their patience, he was deeply hurt by his inability to make the necessary trips for live performances.
The possibility of disappointing his fans hurts him more than they can imagine, Ozzy said in a moving speech to his fans.
Ozzy underwent spine surgery in 2019 and was informed that he might be permanently disabled, which had a negative impact on his health.
Later that year, he was also given a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis, which only served to make matters worse. Additionally, he suffered neck damage from an ATV accident in 2003, which was made worse by a bad fall.
With the knowledge that his days of touring the globe were numbered, Ozzy expressed his gratitude to those closest to him, including his family, bandmates, crew members, lifelong friends Judas Priest, and devoted fans who had given him a life he could never have imagined.
There was a request for refunds at the point of purchase for those who had bought tickets for upcoming performances.
To repair the harm a quad bike accident 17 years prior caused to Ozzy Osbourne’s spine, he underwent two surgeries in 2017. He had 15 screws in his back, and his entire body was in excruciating pain from the nerve damage.
Ozzy was courageous enough to undergo surgery once more despite his debilitating condition, and he had a successful procedure that involved cutting nerves and taking painkillers.
He was given the go-ahead to perform at his hometown of Birmingham’s Commonwealth Games closing ceremony just two months later.
He deserves praise for his tenacity and bravery in the face of such hardship.
I’ve been feeling down lately, partly because I can’t move as fast as I used to. I can still sing and compose, and my mental state is generally stable, but I have very little mobility.
It’s amazing how one error or mistake can have such a lasting impact on your life, making it seem like I’ve been ill for ever.
I was urgently advised to undergo a specific procedure by my surgeon after being warned that failure to do so would result in paralysis from the neck down. Please share this important message with your Ozzy Osbourne friends, family, and fans.
