The final words Tina Turner spoke to Angela Bassett are shared in a heartbreaking tribute.

In a 1993 Turner biopic, Bassett, who was nominated for an Oscar, said, “I shall hold these words close to my heart. Since 1993, she has allegedly carried a small piece of Tina Turner in her spirit, according to Angela Bassett.

Turner, a well-known musician who first came into prominence in the 1960s, reportedly passed away on May 24 at the age of 83 in her Swiss home, according to her publicist.

Bassett received an Academy Award nomination for her performance as Turner in the 1993 biopic “What’s Love Got to Do With It.”.

In a statement given to NBC News by her agent, Bassett said, “It’s impossible to say goodbye to someone as impactful as Turner. ”.

How do we say goodbye to a woman who owned her suffering and trauma and used it to better the world, she wondered.

“Through her courage in telling her story, her commitment to stay the course in her life, no matter the cost, and her determination to carve out a space in rock and roll for herself and for others who look like her, Tina Turner showed others who lived in fear what a beautiful future filled with love, compassion, and freedom should look like. ”.

She also told her Turner’s last words.

Her final words to me were, “You never imitated me. Instead, you delved deep inside of yourself until you found your inner Tina and showed her to the world. She thought, “I’ll hold these words close to my heart for the rest of my days.”.

Bassett was named one of the 100 most influential people of the year by TIME in April, and Turner wrote an essay for the magazine in Bassett’s honor. In that article, Turner acknowledged that she initially had her doubts about the Bassett-starring biography because she felt that no one could sing and dance as well as she could.

Turner considers his initial impression of Bassett, which was “She’s perfect. “You’ve never tried to mimic me. Instead, you looked deep within yourself until Tina appeared, at which point you shared her with everyone.

Bassett urged people to discover their “inner Tina” in her statement. ”.

So even though we mourn the loss of her legendary voice and presence today, she gave us more than we could have ever hoped for. She gave us everything she had.

Additionally, Tina Turner is without a doubt “the best” when it comes to gifts. “Queen, allow the angels to guide you to sleep.
