Tugging at heartstrings! A sweet 4-year-old serenades her mother, who triumphed over cancer, with a heartfelt song. Love and courage shine bright.

Mckenna, a 4-year-old singing to her mother Diana who is battling stage 4-Hodgkin lymphoma, in this heartwarming video.

A cancer awareness event that Diana’s relatives hosted features the two. Diana is seated on a chair at the end of a dance floor, surrounded by family members and friends who are occupying purple-upholstered tables and chairs.

Little Mckenna is holding the microphone and standing in front of her mother. Mckenna doesn’t seem to notice the crowd surrounding her. She sings to her mother, the only person in the room, keeping a fixed gaze in her direction.

When Diana is sobbing and lip-syncing to one of their favorite Martina McBride songs, Mckenna utters the phrase, “When you’re weak, I am strong,” to which Diana responds.
At the conclusion of the song, Diana reaches out her arms to her daughter, and Mckenna advances to give her a bear hug.

This video received millions of views and supportive comments after Ellen Degeneres first posted it. A week later, Diana and Mckenna received an invitation to appear on Ellen.

Martina McBride made her stage debut during the interview as a surprise for Diana. A duet of the well-known song is performed on the show by Mckenna and Martina. As if that weren’t enough, Ellen also presents the mother and daughter with a check for $20,000. While ecstatic, Diana expresses her gratitude.

Having such strong support during difficult times is a blessing, as anyone who has gone through a health crisis can attest. The most effective motivators are occasionally the youngest kids!
