When he is 65 years old, Dolph Lundgren is officially diagnosed with cancer.

Dolph Lundgren claims that he has allegedly been secretly battling cancer for years. Lundgren’s role as Soviet-Russian boxer Ivan Drago in the Rocky film series may be what most people remember him for.

The Swedish actor disclosed that his illness is now terminal as he discussed his diagnosis yesterday.

Dolph Lundgren, who played He-Man in 1987, The Punisher in 1989, and The Expendables in 2010, disclosed that a kidney tumor was first discovered in his body eight years ago. Scan results in the years after its successful removal were “fine,” but in 2020, an MRI revealed “more tumors,” which caused his condition to relapse.

Lundgren admitted during an In Depth interview with Graham Bensinger that “[there was a] tumor in my kidney that they took out in 2015 […] but then they did a biopsy, and it was cancerous”.

Despite years of clear scans, the second tumor was discovered to be expanding in Lundgren’s liver in 2020. The severity of his condition became apparent to Lundgren, he claimed, at that point.

The actor was informed that the tumor had become too large for surgery, despite earlier speculation that it might be removed similarly to how the first one had been. Lundgren’s condition had also spread to his lungs, spine, liver, and stomach before a fatal cancer could be found.

I asked, “How much longer do you think I have?” the 65-year-old man recalled.

“I believe he said two or three years, but I could tell by the sound of his voice that he likely believed it to be less”.

More than anything else, Lundgren said, he “felt sorry” for his family, which included his fiance Emma Krokdal and his two daughters, Ida and Greta Lundgren.

I thought I’d better get a second opinion, he continued.

Things began to shrink after three months. Ongoing removal of the scar tissue from the tumors. ”.

“The hope is that when they remove them, there won’t be any cancer activity, and the medication I’m taking will inhibit everything else,” the actor continued”.

“I hope it’s years,” said Lundgren’s oncologist. I don’t think it has been months. I want to try to keep him on this medication as long as I can to identify new therapeutic targets as things change in his body.

Dolph Lundgren, who plays the antagonist in the 1985 film Rocky IV, acknowledges using steroids in the past and speculates whether this may have contributed to his cancer.

He said, “I wasn’t sure if it was connected to the cancer. Naturally, I gave the idea of a connection some thought. I gave it a fleeting thought”.

Let’s wish Dolph Lundgren the best of luck as he battles cancer.
