In his first significant public outing since undergoing knee surgery, Al Roker talks about his recovery.
The renowned weatherman for the Today Show had surgery on May 9 and was released from the hospital on May 30. After that, he returned to the NBC studios.

While he did return to his regular position as Today’s anchor, he nonetheless maintained a low profile, spending the rest of the week at home with his family. Nevertheless, he went out again over the weekend in New York City’s social scene.
On Saturday afternoon in Liberty State Park in New Jersey, the annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic drew celebrities like Nacho Figueras and Delfina Blaquier, Coco Rocha, Simone Ashley, Emma Stone, and Nicky Hilton Rothschild. Along with him was Al Roberts’ wife Deborah Roberts.
He provided an update on his health while attending the event and declared that this was his first visit to a major event since making a formal comeback.
He added that this is really my first outing outside of work and that he felt good”.
He continued by saying that it was “nice to be wearing nice clothes,” and that as a result, “You can’t help but feel better”.
Al picked out a lavender pinstripe suit, a button-down shirt, a purple tie, a matching hat, a matching pocket square, and a matching brooch. Deborah wore a large orange straw hat with hot pink piping as well as a stunning floral pink dress with a center zipper.
Al shared photos of the event on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Since my doctor wouldn’t let me travel to Kansas City to support the @bigslickkc, we went to the @veuveclicquot poloclassic at Libertystatepark and hung out with husband and wife poloplayers @nachofigueras and @delfinablaquier and @gayleking and @allymisslove. So much fun watching the matches!”.
With the comments “Love the clothing,” “You both look fantastic,” and “You both look super chic!!! Al, it’s wonderful to see you looking so good,” his daughter Courtney Roker Laga left a response in the comments section. A few of the remarks read, “Deborah always looks amazing, and of course you do too Al,” “And of course your wife is always dressed like a supermodel,” and “Awwww y’all look great! I love the vibrant clothing”.
The day after he made his official return to television on May 30, Al’s co-stars Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie warmly welcomed him and expressed their “great happiness” to have him back in Studio 1A.
Prior to the start of the show, Savannah greeted the audience. Then, the camera cut to Al as he awaited the weather report as usual. Look who’s here, Mr. Dot Roker! We’re delighted to have you back in our studio, and you have a brand-new knee, she said. Al answered, “It’s all good,” when Hoda asked how things were going. We’re so happy to see you back”.
