After learning of comedian Barry Humphries’ passing at the age of 89, Pierce Brosnan paid a heartfelt tribute to him.
The late actor passed away on Saturday at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, where he had been admitted last week for treatment of a “serious condition” associated with post-hip replacement surgery complications.
A heartfelt tribute to the late performer was shared on Instagram on Monday by the James Bond actor.
The passing of Barry Humphries, he claimed, left Pierce with a broken heart. We look happy in the picture of us. He was a fantastic actor, comedian, and Dame Edna.
“Barry made the world laugh and happy. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Lizzie, his family, and friends. We will miss Dame Edna and you, sweet Barry. ”.
The comedian passed away with his wife of 30 years, Lizzie Spender, and other members of his immediate family by his side.
His family said, “He never lost his brilliant mind, his distinctive sense of humor, or his generosity of spirit. He was completely himself all the way through. Over the course of more than 70 years, he gave performances on stage, went on tour for the final year of his life, and planned additional performances that, tragically, were never able to take place”.
