The late actor passed away on Saturday at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, where he had been admitted last week for treatment of a “serious condition” associated with post-hip replacement surgery complications.

The comedian passed away with his wife of 30 years, Lizzie Spender, and other members of his immediate family by his side.

Over the course of more than 70 years, he gave performances on stage, went on tour for the final year of his life, and planned additional performances that, tragically, were never able to take place”.
