Breast cancer stages range from 0 to IV, with higher numbers indicating a more aggressive form of the disease that has spread outside of the original site.
Breast cancer that has not spread beyond the ventricles is considered noninvasive at stage 0. Stage IV, on the other hand, denotes the presence of cancer cells outside of the area of the original tumor.
In the United States, nearly 150,000 people have battled metastatic breast cancer and are now leading courageous lives.
Due to advancements in medical technology, patients can now expect to live longer and manage their illness for a longer period of time.
In order to aid them in this process, actress Jane Doherty starred in two television programs this year: List of a Lifetime and Dying to Belong.
