The cause of Suzanne Somers’ passing has been unveiled.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Somers died from “breast cancer with a metastasis to the brain.” She had been battling breast cancer for over 23 years. It is a heartbreaking loss, as her passing occurred just one day before her 77th birthday on October 16.

The cause of her death was confirmed through a biopsy, and although no autopsy was performed, her death certificate provides additional information. It noted that hypertension (high blood pressure) and hydrocephalus (excessive accumulation of cerebral spinal fluid in the brain) were contributing underlying conditions.

Actress Suzanne Somers, known for her role as Chrissy Snow on “Three’s Company,” passed away on October 15 at the age of 76 in California. The cause of her death has been revealed after her death certificate was obtained.

Hypertension, as explained by the Cleveland Clinic, can lead to complications such as heart attack and stroke. On the other hand, hydrocephalus adds harmful pressure to brain tissues. Somers had been battling hydrocephalus for over a year and had undergone a procedure in July 2022 to remove excess fluid from her brain using an “intracerebral ventricular shunt,” according to her death certificate.

Somers’ passing surrounded by her family was a profound moment for all who loved her. She was laid to rest at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City, California, on October 18.

Suzanne Somers will always be remembered for her remarkable talent and the joy she brought to audiences throughout her career in the entertainment industry. Her legacy will continue to inspire and touch the hearts of many.
