A 6-year-old boy from Grants Pass, Oregon, was absent without permission in 2015. Hunter’s mother Nicole was aware that his family would probably have to go to jail as a result of car problems.
As a result, Nicole made the decision to have lunch at his school. She wanted to see how he was doing and check in on him, but she got much more than she bargained for.
Nicole didn’t see her son in detention; she saw him being subjected to what many would consider a public humiliation. It is sufficient to say that she was not amused.
When Nicole arrived at the school, Hunter was alone in his seat. The 6-year-old couldn’t see anyone or communicate with them because a partition covered his face. Hunter sat holding a cup with the letter “D” on it as she sobbed. (To be kept).
Nicole was upset with the school, as any mother would be, over the way they treated her child. Hunter rarely arrived late to school, so the fact that she didn’t arrive late enough that day to make up any missed assignments added to her rage.
Nicole took a picture of Hunter in the dining hall after realizing she had to take action. She subsequently posted it on social media.
Other residents of Grants Pass decided to help after Nicole’s picture became popular. Hunter and the group agreed that he would never again miss class.
A few days later, Nicole and her family—which included Marc—went to Kelly’s Automotive Service anticipating that their car would be determined to be beyond repair. As a result of the community’s efforts, they were instead given the keys to a Chrysler van.
Residents of Grants Pass performed a kind deed that will significantly help Nicole and her family and served as proof that there is always hope where there is love.
